I had the most fun with this course. Creating an ePortfolio is fun! I never thought I would actually create a website with my ideas, learning, and passion. It was an easy course because it was up my alley. I got to play with a new piece of technology and reflect on interesting reading and videos. The blogs were fun! I loved coming up with corny titles. My goal is for them to be relatable. The course is perfect to accompany more intensive classes like 5305, since it is surrounds itself with self paced ePortfolio creation. Summarization of each aspect:
ePortfolio Creation. I am still learning and playing with Wix. I love and highly recommend using the AI feature. If it is not a picture I took, I am using the AI image creator. (Granted, I had to use Copilot a couple of time, since it is better). I have added Google Drive Docs, links, videos, pages, and more! The base creation was brought to you by the AI technology, I love how it keeps the theme colors as a default. I even tried making one for my students but they are too young to use Wix, so I used Canva.
Blog. This is my strong suit. Talking about 'random' stuff that I am interested in and be quirky has been a delight. I need to post more and be more consistent.
Discussion Boards. Moment of transparency, at first I hated the format for discussion board for this course and 5305. Picking a group and having collaboration tied to my grade was frustrating at first. Imagine breaking the ice through a Google Doc. In the beginning, one person never participated, two added on Sundays the due date, and another peer and I would post on Thursday then wait. We were told several times to show the collaboration. I was stressed on Sundays waiting to turn in the discussion board. The only thing due in this class! If you feel like I do, well, TRUST THE PROCESS! That was the best group I had and towards the end we were all on the docs all the time sharing and collaborating. I learned the most from my peers through these discussions, even if it is time consuming. It does force you to focus which was great.
Reading and Videos. The video, discussion boards, and blog assignments were little teasers for the classes to come and that was great! It helped feel prepared for assignments in 5302 and 5304.
Overall, fun swift class with focused group discussion.
