5304 Warriors: Learning Contributions

Leading Organization Change

This is the next step that my life needed. I am full of ideas. I observe what needs to change and I am not afraid of sharing my concerns; however, execution is  a problem. I am learning how to organize my ideas; the next stage is sharing them in an efficient way that will get others to listen. Talking about my passion for bilingual education is liberating. As a former emergent bilingual student myself, I feel passionate about the cause. I research about it, and implement what I can. Limiting breakthroughs to just my classroom is not enough. I am restless, this course is the first step to getting others involved. 

Since I was taking this course with 5302, I had a lot going on. Funny enough, I always felt less confident submitting these assignments then the other course, yet I 'did' better in this course. I think this course was more successful because it revolved around my innovation plan and I saw a lot of the things I believe in with the texts. I grasped the concept and could apply the text to my innovation plan; however, I am not creative enough in displaying my thoughts. For example:

• What's Your Why: I actually did pretty good with this one. It was a focused simplified version of what was done in 5305. It was matter of putting it together. 

• Influencer Strategy: This assignment turned out more extensive than I intended. I am not satisfied with how it is displayed on my ePortfolio, but break is around the corner I can change it then. I think I want to add more videos and switch up the format. 

• 4 Disciplines of Execution. This was an interesting assignment. I am still waiting on feedback, but I am not confident with what I submitted, I will update when I receive feedback. 

• Groups. For this class and 5302, we made a GroupMe for each. It has been beneficial. We keep each other updated with the assignments due, post examples, and collaborate consistently. It is a very active group chat. It is an ideal for of communication. 

• Reading and video. It is a lot of reading! However, I enjoy how they everything relates so clearly, especially the texts. At times I had to go back and make sure I wasn't quoting the wrong book since their ideas related so well. They also fused with 5302 as well.

• Self-Differentiated: This was eye opening! I am disappointed and shocked that I have fallen for the lag of crucial conversations. The text Crucial Conversation by Greeny et. al, was an awakening. I have a lot to work on. How can I be a leader if I cannot talk and connect to others? This will be my grow for this semester. 

It was a lot of reading, however, I enjoyed this course. These lessons aligned with my current beliefs and states. It has guided me on the next stage of my journey.
